Mail Call - Wholly Guacamole Thank You!!!!!

I love Wholly Guacamole!!! I posted on their Facebook page last week that their lovely guacamole had been my dinner that night because of all the trauma to my mouth. They contacted me and asked for my address, and today I got this, it contains two coupons for free guacamole, an avocado shaped stress ball, a Wholly Guacamole chip clip, a pencil, a bracelet, a recipe card, and some games and activities!!!! Officially they are now my absolute favorite company in the entire universe!!!!!!

Today's Walgreens Trip

Today was pretty awesome! I had some rebate cards and some moneymaker deals with coupons and register rewards. I spent $2.46 out of pocket, and I have a $9 RR left to use. Most of the money came from my rebate card, so recycled  my money again (because that money had already been used a few times before I bought the item that triggered the rebate, lol!)!!! And, I wouldn't have spent any money out of pocket today, but dairy products cannot be purchased with a Walgreens rebate card, I had no idea, and neither did my cashier, lol! Oh, and the chocolate bunnies were 25 cents each today, I usually buy some every year to keep for making chocolate fondues for the rest of the year. We love to dip fruit in them for a fun dessert with the kids, or for a romantic winter evening. Makes it a really inexpensive yet fun treat!

Fire Safe $20 after price match and coupon at Staples

This deal is only for people that already have a Staples account, and who log into it and find a coupon in their coupon wallet for $80 off item number 611912 - Sentry Safe Fire Safe.

The online price is showing $99. In store the price is higher. You have to first print out the coupon from your coupon wallet (and not every Staples reward member got it), and take it to the store. Ask the manager to price match the price of the safe online. Then hand over your coupon. It should make the safe $20, down from $179!

Really great deal if you can make it happen! I got the coupon, and I am going to try at my local store tomarrow. Wish me luck!!

Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Bowl Cleaner Starter Kit

Go to www.coupons.com and type in zip code 77477, then go down and click the tab that says "household", there will be a link for a $5 rebate when you buy a Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Bowl Cleaner Starter Kit.

Then go back to the same site again and type in zip code 33033, and you will find a coupon for $3 off the same starter kit.

The kits run about $10, and are available at Target, Wal-Mart, Home depot, etc. Buy it using the coupon, and submit for the rebate. Easy!

At one time, they had coupons inside the boxes as well, but I haven't looked recently to see if any kits still contain them!

Walgreens Rumors....

A little birdie who knows stuff told me a week ago that Walgreens is having meetings to create a card, like CVS has. This would not be nice for us as coupon users. Right now, Walgreens has no way of tracking how many times we roll a money making deal over. We can get unlimited amounts (limited by stock of course) of whatever items we can roll over right now. If this card thing happens, it will be one deal per card. One big reason I rarely bother with CVS.
I wanted to just let everyone know. The deals are amazing right now, but usually, when something is great, it won't last long, so get these Walgreens deals while you can, as change is on the horizon!

When I first started couponing, Walgreens only did mail in rebates. Like, no online forms, you had to literally get a stamp and an envelope and mail it in. It was one offer per household, so you could never roll anything over like you can with these RRs.

Then they switched to all RR deals. This was nice, but you could never get your money back!

Now, they have a beautiful combination of both, RR and mail in rebates, so you can buy something, roll Register Rewards over, and over, and over, and then get an item with a Mail in Rebate, and get your money back... I love this system, I wish they would keep it forever!

Walgreens 4/22 is also gonna be good!

I figure while you are ordering coupons for 4/15, you may as well order for 4/22 as well.

Red Baron Pizzas will be buy one get one free that week. There are coupons on E-Bay for Free Red Baron pizzas, and each of those will get you two pizzas for free at Walgreens that week.

Okay, and there will be another rolling money maker deal like the previous week:
I-Cool Menopause plus D will be $10 and produce a $10 RR (Register Reward)
There are coupons on E-Bay for $2 off.

So, I plan to buy one of those, use a leftover $10 RR from the week of 4/15, use a $2 off coupon, and get $2 worth of other stuff in addition to the I-Cool (Finesse shampoo will be $1.99, and the Sunday paper on 4/22 will have $1/1 coupon, so maybe that, I love Finesse!). This will produce a $10 RR.

I will use that $10 RR to buy Kotex U tampons, they will be $3.99 and generate a $3 RR, there are coupons on E-Bay for $1 off any Kotex U, so order some of those!
So, Kotex U tampons for $3.99, and then Psoriasin will be $5 and generate a $5 RR. I will use my $10 RR, and a $1 Kotex U coupon, get enough filler items to add up to my total and add up to the number of coupons used, and I will pay taxes and whatever I added, and get back $8 in RR.

I will then use my $8 in RR to buy another I-Cool from above. It is two separate RR coupons, plus the $2 off coupon from E-Bay, so I will need 2 filler items to add up to the number of coupons. I will pay whatever the cost of the fillers is (.50 cents each for Ramen noodles), plus taxes, and get another $10 RR.

Rinse and Repeat, and make $2 each time you do it!

Edited to add:
There will be a Free After Rebate glucose meter in the ad that week as well. It will cost $12.99, and you will get $12.99 back! This is a great way to get your money back at the end of your two weeks in a row of rolling deals!

Walgreens 4/15 is gonna be good!!

Ok, so since there was nothing worth really running out to the store for recently, and I was pretty much home having a lot of painful dental work (thank goodness for Vicodin!!), I took a mini-break. I do that from time to time.
This week at Walgreens is going to be really good.
I thought I posted a while ago that Nasal Ease would be a money maker this coming week. It will be priced at $9.99 with a $9.99 Register Reward, making it free after RR. There is a coupon available on E-Bay for $5 off that same product! The prices vary on these coupons, but I always search for Buy It Now and sort by price, and order the largest amount of coupons I can for the lowest price.

Similasan will also be free after RR this week. It is $6 with a $6 RR...There are coupons on E-Bay for $1.50 off any Similasan product.

So, we can make some money here folks!!

Here is how I plan to do it:
I will spend $5 and use a $5 off coupon to get one Nasal Ease.
This will generate a RR for $9.99 (usually they round it up to $10, but sometimes they don't just depends).

I will then pick up a Similasan for $6. I will use my $9.99 RR and a $1.50 off coupon for Similasan. To use both coupons my amount spent at the register will have to exceed $11.50. I will pick up $5.50 worth of random stuff, whatever we happen to need at the moment. I will buy both, and pay only tax and any excess I added on, and get a $6 RR.

I will then pick up another Nasal Ease. I will use my $5 off Nasal Ease coupon, and my $6 off RR, and I will have to add in an item valued over $1 to use both coupons. I ordered coupons on E-Bay for Dawn Hand Renewal, it will be priced at .99 cents a bottle, and the coupons are for .50/1. I need three items to use three coupons (Walgreens coupon policy), so I will have to add in an extra item, I like to use Ramen noodles for this, they make a good snack. I will again pay tax and whatever extra I added on.

Each time I roll it over I will make about $6.50 in free merchandise. By the end of the week we should have a nice little stock of Nasal Ease, Similasan, Dawn Hand Renewal, and whatever else I happen to be needing.

Aqua Fresh kids pump will also be free after coupons. We are all stocked up on Spinbrushes and toothpaste  after a sale I found after Christmas at Wal-Mart, so we don't need any, but if you do need some, there are going to be coupons coming out in the newspaper on Sunday 4/15 for $1/1 kids Aquafresh, pair that with a coupon for $1/1 kid Aquafresh in the monthly coupon book at the front of the store, and it is free after both coupons. You will need an extra item so you have two items for two coupons, so you might wrap it into one of the deals up above. The coupons are also already available on E-Bay if you would rather not buy the newspaper, or you could order them on Sunday as soon as they come out (the price might drop when there are more available), they will usually get to you before the sale ends, and you can always ask for a rain check if they don't.

Anyway, it looks like it will be a fun week at Wags!!!

Luxury Items for less...

So, couponing isn't always about just groceries. I mean, I love to get my groceries as cheap as possible, but it wouldn't be any fun if all I ever did was that. I have been couponing for over ten years now. I really don't coupon every day, and this blog will reflect that. Unless it is a fantastic fabulous free deal, I don't bother, and sometimes I just take a break and let the other couponers get the deals for a while, this keeps my sanity intact, keeps my shelves full but not cluttered, and helps us probably more in terms of lifestyle than the constant couponing and arguing with cashiers and all that craziness would.
This past week the deals I have focused on have nothing to do with groceries.

The first was dental work. UGH!!! No one likes the dentist, least of all me! I was told last summer that I would need $2500 worth of dental work. My dentist was all ready to just schedule me, and I stopped him and told him I wanted to do some research first and explore my options, and I told him that I thought one of the teeth that needed a crown could actually be pulled instead for braces, to fix the overcrowding problem in the top of my mouth. I scheduled a free consultation with the orthodontist, and sure enough, he verified what a previous orthodontist had said a few years ago, that indeed, that tooth could be pulled instead of crowned and would lead to lower costs and fewer problems in the long run. And, our current dental insurance would cover half the cost associated with adult braces, which is pretty rare, but luckily and thankfully we have good dental insurance through my husband's work. So, the total cost to do the necessary fillings, pull the teeth, and apply the braces ended up being almost the same as what just the dental work would have been. It still isn't cheap, but in the long run it will be a much better solution.

The second was wardrobe. I go through fits and spurts with clothes. Somehow, Basic Training has something to do with this. After spending three months having someone tell me what I would be wearing throughout my day, when it was all over, I couldn't get dressed anymore. My parents waited for two hours that first morning while I was in our hotel room trying to figure out what to wear. To this day, combining outfits has proved especially challenging for me, and I usually resort to figuring out a "uniform" and dressing that way. My husband had become especially tired of stretch pants, my last uniform, lol, so it was time to change it up. I spent a week or two walking around stores, figuring out options, figuring out accessories, trying to add color to my wardrobe without making it complicated and harder than it needs to be (my default is black), but also leaving me a "uniform" that I can figure out easily in the morning without getting stopped in my tracks. I found cute little black knit skirts, that fit perfectly, and t-shirts in a rainbow of colors that look incredibly flattering and go well with the skirts. The t-shirts are made by a company called "Zanana Outfitters", and at the store where I first discovered them, they were between $25 and $70 each. Well, that was certainly not budget friendly. Out of desperation I went to Ross. They had the same t-shirts, by the same company, for $5.99 each, all styles! Yay!!! They also had the same shirt by a different company, called "Black Dress" in more color variations. I was able to stock up on those shirts by driving to different Ross stores, and get myself a pretty wardrobe of color that even I can figure out in the morning, lol!

Then came accessories. This whole wardrobe thing is something I usually tackle once a season, I try to make it a point to go through and get rid of anything I haven't worn in a while, and anything that just looks beat up. I put once season in storage in another closet, move the new season in, and go from there. I am getting better at being organized about it, but I am still not where I would like to be. Anyway, accessories are something that I just don't understand sometimes. I am ok at coordinating things, but not perfect at it, and by the time I figure out what I am going to wear, accessories get forgotten and I am rushing out the door. I started refurbishing Coach bags about a year ago. I can get them super cheap in horrible condition, and refurbish them myself to make them look new again. It works out really well, and I am getting a really pretty collection of classic Coach bags that I really feel good about carrying, and I get lots of compliments on them. Refurbishing them takes a couple of days, and it can be frustrating, but in the end, I really like it. I get my info on how to do the whole refurbish thing from a website called "The Purse Forums", there is a thread under the Coach area that explains everything in great detail complete with before and after pics and an entire supportive community of ladies that do the same thing.
While exploring the purse forums this past week, and dreaming of my dream bag (a black Birkin, with gold fittings, by Hermes, if any of you win the lottery, it would be my one request!) I found a thread called "Ode to Horn". It is an entire thread devoted to the incredible Horn jewelry that Hermes sells. The stuff is gorgeous, and honestly I love it, but I would never pay $900 for a necklace, or $15,000 for a bag, but it is fun to dream. Anyway, I did a little search on E-Bay for some jewelry another Purse Forums member had purchased recently, called Bakelite. Found nothing, that stuff is also pretty expensive, if you can even find it. I then clicked the advanced tab and hit "search stores", and did a search for horn jewelry. I found an amazing store there, called QueCraft. It turns out that many of the Purse Forum members shop there for horn jewelry, and the rumor is that it is the same factory where the Hermes is made, the artisans simply use it in their off hours and sell their items separately. I placed an order, and they air-mailed it to me. I did not pay extra for shipping, and most people report that it takes 5 weeks to get their stuff, but my order was here in two days, as fast as Amazon. I have no idea why mine arrived so fast, but well, I was happy! Anyway, the stuff is beautiful! It perfectly matches my Coach bags and rainbow t-shirts and simple black skirts. And the shop will do custom work for almost the same price as what they charge on E-bay. You could design anything you want, and they will create it! I love them, and they will be getting much more business from me in the future!!
So, couponing doesn't always involve a coupon, or food, or the grocery store, it is a way of life, a way of finding the rare things in life that make it fun! So, while I haven't been posting much this week, I have been really busy, and my braces go on tomarrow. If you decide to order from QueCraft, please tell them I sent you, and please let me know if you like their designs as much as I do!
