The GAP Back to School clothes deal

The GAP has a few concurrent deals running right now.

Here is the one I did tonight. As always YMMV! And you don't need AMEX to get a great deal, it is just a bettter deal with the AMEX card.

AMEX has a $25 statement credit when you spend $75 at The Gap. This has to be done in the physical store. Check your AMEX account and see if you have the offer. Apply it to your card. Then go use it at the store. I bought the $75.00 gift card for exactly $75. I then got an e-mail from AMEX confirming I had used their offer and to watch for my statement credit within the next 90 days.

I brought the gift card home and I used it to buy online, because my son hates shopping anyway, and because online you can use the code multiple times and shop the outlet if you prefer.

There is a code that you can use more than once, STAPLES... it gives $25 off a $50 purchase. Enter it at checkout. This is available as a printed version at Staples. Keep any eye out for my Staples paper ream deal coming up and you can buy the reams of paper, get the coupon, and use it in the actual store if you are buying for yourself or someone who likes to actually try stuff on.

I placed two separate orders for some jeans for my son and some Gap logo t-shirts, and a skirt for myself, and I paid $8 on top of the $50 I paid for the gift card.

There was free shipping on a $50 purchase, and the $50 counts before the coupon, so shipping is free, just make sure you select that option at checkout.

So $58 for two pairs of jeans, two t-shirts, and a skirt for us... but I chose new release clothes, you could do better by shopping the online outlet or the sale area if you need a lot of clothes. I just needed a couple more jeans and some accent pieces for my son.

The best part? You get two $25 off $50 coupons for use in September too, so when my son outgrows the jeans I just bought him they will go on E-Bay and I will replace them with longer ones...
